Project Overview
Objective:
- Perform real-time orientations of perforating guns in a challenging high-pressure and high-temperature (HPHT) environment.
Challenge:
- Safeguard the fiber optic cables on the outside of the casing during perforation.
Solution:
- Leveraging Icefield Energy advanced gyro systems for precise toolface alignments.
Key Achievements:
- Accurate Orientations: VOS successfully utilized advanced gyro systems to ensure precise toolface alignments. The perforating guns were oriented 180 degrees opposite to the position of the fiber optic cable.
- Cost Savings: By avoiding damage to the fiber optic cable, VOS prevented the need for a costly recompletion of the well.
Results:
- Eight zones were successfully perforated without compromising the cable or risking downtime.
- Icefield Energy solid-state CVG gyro tool performed flawlessly, demonstrating reliability and efficiency.
